Assessments
Your performance at Exeter will be assessed in a variety of different ways, to equip you with the necessary skills for the workplace or further study. Each module has a set of 'Intended Learning Outcomes' which specify what you should know and be able to do by the end of the module, and assessments are designed to demonstrate these.
Submitting assessments
You can now find and submit all your assessments from within ELE 2. Here you will find an assessment dashboard where you can view all your assessments details in one place, including deadlines, extensions, mitigations and when feedback is due.
Feedback Guide for ELE and Exams Exeter
We recommend submitting your work at least three hours before the deadline, so you have time to fix any unexpected issues. If you're submitting from off campus, please ensure you have a strong and reliable internet connection. It's your responsibility to upload the correct file to the right submission point before the deadline.

Use of Generative AI Tools
The Â鶹ֱ²¥ is committed to supporting the ethical and responsible use of Generative AI (GenAI) tools in teaching and learning. You can find
Direct copying of content, including AI-generated content, without proper acknowledgement falls under plagiarism and misrepresentation. See and TQA section 12.3.
To provide clarity on uses of AI, assessments can fall in four categories:
- AI-Integrated - where the use of GenAI tools is required by the module’s Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) and included in the assessment brief. In AI-integrated assessments, you must include prompts and links to outputs as part of their list of references. The lecturer running your module will explain how AI should (and should not) be used and explain the ILOs in the assessment brief. If anything is not clear, please ask them for clarification.
- AI-Assisted - where you may use GenAI tools ethically and responsibly to assist in the development of an assessment. In AI-assisted assessments, you must include the prompts and links used in your list of references if you use GenAI tools. The assessment brief will include a checklist of the uses of AI allowed.
- AI-Minimal - where you may use AI tools for checking spelling and grammar mistakes only.
- AI-Prohibited - you must not use GenAI tools as their use prevents achievement of the Intended Learning Outcomes.
You will no longer need to submit an ‘AI declaration’ when you submit your assessments on ELE2.  Instead, you’ll need to check a box to confirm that you have complied with our policy on academic conduct, and with the expectations regarding the use of GenAI as specified in your assessment brief.  It will not be possible to submit your assessment without checking this box and should make submitting your assessments faster and easier.
For AI-assisted and AI-integrated assessments, you must include a list of the tools, prompts used, and links to outputs generated, as part of your reference list. You do not need to include the outputs themselves, but should keep them for your records, as you could be asked to share them (for example at an instances where a viva or academic misconduct investigation is required).  You can find out more about our approach to the ethical use of AI in assessments and learn how to use AI ethically and responsibly .
